Debesh Goswami

In 1987, he starts his study in sculpture, at the Rabindra-Bharati University of Calcutta, India. In 1995, he receives “the French government scholarship for the young artists” which allows him to leave for France and to continue his research in the field of the sculpture and the installation. In 2001, Debesh Goswami obtains his Doctorate of Visual arts at the University Rennes 2 entitled The moulding process in the contemporary sculpture : technique and time. And in 1996, Visiting Fellowship, National Academy of Fine Arts, Poznan (Poland).

He took part in several national and international expositions like Liverpool Biennial, Asian Biennial Dhaka, European Biennale in Nimes, Salon of Mont rouge, Indian Museum, Calcutta, Bangladesh National Museum, Dhaka, international art fair Hong Kong, Art Miami. His work was rewarded, by the DRAC-Brittany 2000 (French Ministry of Culture) and by the residence in the City International of Arts, in Paris, in 2002, 2008 and 2009. Currently, Goswami’s works are exposed to the Gallery Hélène Lamarque in Miami (U.S.A), Champs libre (Brittany),  gallery oniris, and modern art museum Moscow, (Russia).
Presently he is professor of Rennes Art college, (France). »
